Tournament Fishing Reports

Peace River 11/1-2
Several snook were caught the first day of the tournament below and in the slot.  Soft plastic baits and bucktail jigs were the most effective baits.  Joe Markovitz caught his big snook on a soft plastic bait fishing a dock.  Ron Dunham and Mike Howell caught several snook fishing around bridge pilings with Millie jigs.

South Chain 12/13/2009
It was a very cold and windy day and we encountered some of the worst fishing conditions in recent memory.  Most of the fish were caught early primarily on rattletrap type baits.  Gene Ledford caught several of his bass on Strike King's Red Eye Shad in the Sexy Shad color.

Lake Clinch  1/24/2009
Gene Ledford used a Carolina Rig with a Junebug Trick Worm over a brushpile in open water to catch a 7.86 pound bass to anchor his tournament winning stringer of 12.14 pounds.  His partner, Nook, used the same technique to catch a 3.30 pound bass and finish in third place.

Walk In The Water  6/13/2009
Richard Vieths used a white spinnerbait to land several keeper size fish.  The fish were caught around scattered grass and buggy whips.  After ten thirty the fishing slowed considerably in the high heat.

Lake Istokpoga 4/24-25/2010
It was very windy the whole two days and no big fish were caught.  Fishing was very slow in the scattered hydrilla.  Most of the fish were caught just outside the cattails and buggywhips.  Joe Markovitz let the wind be his friend and threw a junebug trick worm in the cattails to dominate and win the tournament.

Stuart Tournament 5/22-23/2010
Gene Ledford caught his big 13.44 lb. Snook on a Golden Eye crankbait.  Most club members caught Snook during this tournament.  Assorted baits included Zara Spooks, Golden Eyes, and live Greenbacks.

Walk In Water 6/12/2010
Joe Markovitz used weightless Senkos to catch all his fish and win the tournament.  On Friday, while practicing for the tournament, he caught a bass well over eight pounds on a Senko.
